Photo tip Tuesday!

Ok yall. I have to tell you something that is slightly embarrassing. Every since I started Miss Jee’s Photography, I’ve been using the same card reader that my dad bought with his original canon rebel. So, this card reader is probably coming up on it’s 8th birthday or something crazy. Well, probably 2 ish years ago, it stopped recognizing that it was on its base….. SO, me being the thrifty and frugal person that I am, I used electrical tape to solve that problem. Well, then about a year after that, it stopped recognizing SD cards which resulted in me dumping my SD cards on my laptop and using an external to transfer them to my iMac. Not to mention the time it took to transfer the images from the cards to the computer was unbelievably slow. I’m talking an 8gb card was taking up to 20+ minutes to transfer. Well, I’m at the camera store buying some new compact flash cards and I asked if they had new card readers. They did and guess what….. they only cost $17.99. First of all, I was impressed with the size and realized that mine was a true obsolete dinosaur. When I brought it home and transferred gb after gb of data off of my cards in MINUTES…. I was angggrrrryyyyy. For photo tip tuesday, I want to URGE you to make sure you stay up to date with recent technology on affordable items. I have a tendency to get stuck in my way and stick with what works and fail to see technology advancing in our fast paced world. I am SO thankful for this upgrade seeing how it has saved me SO much time!
